Head of a Skeleton with a Burning Cigarette. Vincent Van Gogh Reproductions. Giclee Print for Wall Decor. 16x20

Painted in 1886 while Van Gogh was studying at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Skull of a Skeleton with Burning Cigarette is one of his most striking and unconventional early works. It reflects both his fascination with anatomy and his dark sense of humor, created as a witty commentary on academic training and mortality. The glowing cigarette between the teeth of the skeleton turns a traditional study into an unforgettable symbol of irony and rebellion.Though small in size, this painting carries immense symbolic power. The contrast between death and a lingering spark of life reveals Van Gogh's philosophical depth - an artist confronting the fragility of existence with both wit and humanity. The sharp lines and subdued tones show his early mastery of form and shadow before his later explosion of color. Now housed in the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, this work adds an unexpected edge to any home or office space. It pairs beautifully with modern, industrial, or eclectic decor, serving as a bold conversation piece that bridges humor, intellect, and art history. Each piece is proudly crafted in the USA by DecorArts, ensuring lasting beauty and museum-level quality.
